Edward Dixon wife, properly signed, sealed acknowledged, & recorded. A Certified Copy of said Deed is filed with the application and is marked "C".

She is advised that by the laws of this State she was and is entitled to hold & possess Separate property, not liable for the debt or default of her husband. That she is the wife of Dominic Arrighi of said City. That said property was never used for the benefit of the services of the United States, but as a residence for applicant & her family.

That in August 1864, by order of Genl M. Brayman Comdg Post of Natchez, she was forcibly ejected from the said property at the point of the buyout, without being permitted to remove anything except the personal clothing of herself & family.

That this seizure was not made from Military necessity, or so far as applicant knows on account of any misconduct on her part — nor has the property been used for military purposes, but has been rented out by the offices of the Treasury Department, stationed at Natchez at $100 per month to Citizens of the place

That it has been so rented since the Seizure. That applicant is kept out of possession of said property to the present time, & has been compelled to rent a place to live in but is unable to do so
