Oct. 4

Dearest Mom & Uncle,

It's very nice to hear from you again. Glad to hear that all's well. When is grandpa's birthday by the way?

The weather has been miserable- cold & rainy. I think I'll be needing a very heavy winter coat. Instead of getting a car-coat, I'll get a full length coat. What do you think of this? I'll have to get it here because the weather is so bad. There's a Saks in Maryland, which is right at the border of D.C. & it's very reasonable. Not like the expensive one in N.Y. Their winter dresses are under $25.

The work is getting terrible. A lot of assignments which I don't have time to do- so many scheduled activities. I wonder how the girls find time to do everything. The Dean doesn't expect us to finish everything, which is very sweet of her.

Mike came down this weekend. Very nice of him to come down & see me. We & Millard had a nice time. Just flew back to Boston. He was considerate to have left early so that Millard & I would have time to do our school work. Both Mike & Ray want me to go up to Boston some
