Dearest Mom and Uncle,

Thank you so much for your letter. It's so nice to hear from you. I always look forward to your letters. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the New Year. You must have had a lot of fun at all the parties. As for me, I'm in bed right now with a temperature. It all started with Friday. You see, last weekend was a closed weekend but Sister Marian let us Chinese girls have it open because of the parade & New Year celebrations at Chinatown. So I took Irene out to San Francisco . We stayed again at Aunt Marjies's place. Friday night, we went to a party at Berkeley. It was given by Irene's boyfriend. He also invited the class and Amy. We all had a lot of fun. After the party, we went to San Francisco to [[?]]. Didn't get back to Aunt's Marjories's place until very late. The next day, we went to see Diamond Head with Shirley & all. Had a very nice [[strikethrough]] fu [[/strikethrough]] time. Irene did not feel good after the movie so we took her home. Then the rest of us went to Chinatown for dinner & the parade as planned. [[?]]
