Dearest Mom and Uncle, 

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! How are you? What have you been doing? I hope you are not all worn out from playing golf. I'm so glad you like the wig, Mom, and the cuff links, Unc. They weren't very much of presents but I couldn't think of anything to get you people. Whenever I find something nice, I'll send it to you, [[strikethrough]] so [[/strikethrough]] disregarding Christmas or birthday or what not. In fact, I bought a beautiful baby doll set for Mom. As soon as I find some real nice stuff for Unc, I shall send them. 
      
Let me tell you all about the visit with the Martins. On the 18th, I took the 2 p.m. bus out to San Francisco where Mrs. Martin met me. I had my big blue suit case, a duffle-bag & a coat in hand. I had a hard time getting on & off the bus. I went shopping with Mrs. Martin & bought a very nice beige dress [[image]] It has an A skirt. It was an expensive dress but the wool was of good quality. It cost $26. Sounds very expensive, doesn't it? But it's my first wool dress this year & I've been trying to find a real good one. So, I
