Dearest Mom and Uncle,

I finally arrived in L.A. day before yesterday Maggie and I had a nice trip down. Auntie Pat met us at the Burbank airport. She took us to her home and we went out for dinner that night. Auntie Pat is very nice. She even asked me to come down for X'mas holidays But Aunt Marje had already made plans and I hate to disappoint her, so I thanked Aunt Pat for her kindness & said I'd come some other time. She gave us her basement guest rooms. We have an apartment-like deal. It's great. Aunt Pat also have a daughter our age & we have fun. Let me tell you what we did. We went bowling yesterday. I did very good for a beginner. Then later in the evening, we had dinner, played cards, etc. Mags' uncle came over for dinner. They were jabbering away in Mandarin, so Aunt Pat & Stephie, her kid, ganged up. We have loads of fun. Aunt Pat feeds us all the time & we eat like pigs. I think I've gained 3 or 4 lbs already. I intend to lose them back at school. I'll go shopping on Friday because today's Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving! Our plane leaves on Sun. morning at 8 am. We couldn't get an later reservations because they were all booked. Maggie just got her plane ticket for H.K. Lucky girl!
