Dearest Mom & Uncle,

I received your letter informing me that I may not go to New York for Christmas. I have nothing to say [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] except that I'm disappointed because I was planning on it. I shall not argue with you as you have a very good supporting financial reason. This news of my not going to New York will disappoint quite a few people. But I guess that's how things go.

Since I may not go to to the East for Christmas, may I go to Los Angeles for Thanksgiving? If I go, I'll be going with Maggie & Shirley. We will be staying at Auntie Pat's (The Li's whom Maggie stayed with last Easter) house. Auntie Pat also has a daughter. The Thanksgiving holiday begins on a Wednesday noon & ends on Sunday. I'm sure this wouldn't cost much because I only have to pay for the plane ticket which costs $30 & some pocket money. I like to have an answer very soon because If I can't go with Maggie, I'll have to stay with Auntie Margaret. I would not like to stay with her for both [[strikethrough]] trl [[/strikethrough]] Thanksgiving & Christmas. So I hope you will consent to this as I see no reason why you should object. You should be able to trust me.
