Mrs. James Russell Young
333 East 43rd Street
New York City

What are you doing on July 7th, along about 4 or 5 o'clock?

That day marks the fifth anniversary of the Japanese war in China. If you are free in the late afternoon drop in at 5 East 57th Street. There, on the third floor, you will find a happy way to provide some Chinese war orphans with dinner. Not once; many times.

There you will find many interesting people, all fond of China, signing a Scroll of Friendship that will be sent by Clipper to Madame Chiang Kai-shek, adopted mother of all Chinese war orphans.

Each person who signs that scroll will contribute one dollar. Every dollar so raised will, without a penny of deduction, be sent safely by cable to China. Such a dollar won't mean much to most of us, but it will work wonders for those kiddies in China, who will grow up, better fed, to better carry on the work of the immortal country.

The first five hundred who, in person, sign this Scroll, will be present with an attractive red heart embroidered in Chinese characters with the name of some REAL Chinese war orphan.

Supposing you can't come July 7th. You can be on that Scroll just the same. Send me your dollar, and your name will be inscribed on it by one of the stage and screen celebrities, authors, explorers or radio stars, who will be on hand to be the party a-rolling.

Come if you can. It is such an important day to the Chinese neither they, nor we, must forget it. If you can't be there, send that dollar.

Have a heart for China.

China has a heart for you. come and get it.

July 7. 5 East 57th St. 3rd floor. 4 to 6 P.M.

Cordially yours,
     Marjorie Young
