Dear Major Williams:

Preparations are being made by the American Bureau for Medical Aid to China, Inc., to sponsor a trip for me around South America via airplane to secure donations and funds for the aid of Chinese refugees. A copy of the proposed itinerary is enclosed. Knowing American sympathy for the Chinese, of course we are trying to make this tour on as economical basis as possible, I am wondering if your company would be interest in making a donation towards this campaign.

I do not know whether you read of my recent campaign in the United States on which I received aid from the Beech Aircraft Corporation by their loaning me an airplane and from several oil companies who donated the gasoline. I am happy to report that this was a very successful trip and I was able to raise a large fund for our people.

I do not know whether you remember me, but I had the pleasure of meeting you in Akron, Ohio, before the Air Races at the dinner given by the aeronautical sponsor of Akron.

If you would be interested in helping our relief program, I believe the publicity your good company would receive in connection with this campaign would be worthwhile and the humanitarian deed for my people would be appreciated forever.

I would be very happy if you would check the authenticity of the program with the Chinese Consulate, 1250 Sixth Avenue, New York City, and with my sponsors, the American Bureau for Medical Aid in China, Inc., 57 William Street, New York City.

I would appreciate your sending a copy of your reply to my New York address, c/o American Women's Club, 353 West 57th Street.
Sincerely yours,

Lee Ya Ching
