Dear Miss Lee:
Words - especially English words - are so inadequate to express what we feel over here in Bloomfield for you and for the amazing job you did for us.
The vivid picture of heroic China you painted came alive before our eyes and I know that everyone who was privileged to listen was profoundly impressed.
You will be interested to learn that the forty pledge cards we collected during the evening totalled $10,000. - an increase of $2,000. over last year's gifts from the same people.
It is a good indication of the response we an expect from our subscribers to our greatly increased War Chest budget - and augurs well for the ultimate success of our campaign.
I rather think you enjoyed your visit to Bloomfield - a typical, conservative American small town now in the process of conversion to an industrial area. You will find other places like it all over the country.
May we wish you continued success in stirring the minds and hearts of America. You can do it - if anyone can.

Cordially yours,
[[Tesa?]] Dehumaches
Executive Secretary.
