New York City

My Dear Miss Lee:
It was a source of real pleasure to have been able to meet you last night; and to have also been able to hear you speak on your native land. My sincerest congratulations to you and to your organization for the fine work you are doing, and for the quality of your oratory.
I have, in my humble way, been doing quite a number of talks to cement and seal Sino-American friendships, and create a new spirit of tolerance and understanding between your people and the American business and professional men and women. In doing this I have made sscored and scores of talks and lectures,- so it is a matter of "refreshing interest" to be able to get your own viewpoint in the charming way you deliver it.
The writer is happily married to a fine and lovely Chinese girl born in America, Miss Chiu Chun-Mui; and we have been married over five years. At present she is the service of the United States Government at Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey.
Hope you got home all right last night; I did notice you missed the early train. My purpose in volunteering to serve as your escort was that I not you came out without an umbrella or an escort, and that you had to walk to the Town Hall in Fleral Park. I would have been glad to see you back to New York in a train, and thence by cab to wherever your apartment is Miss Lee.... In any case, may I express the wish that we meet again some time, and God bless you in the continuation of your fine work.
                  Most respectfully,
                 Walter W. Hubbard
