Miss Lee Ya-ching
Hotel Algonquin
New York, N. Y.

Dear Ya-ching,

This is just a brief note to ask whether you have sent out letters to the tour cities. Since it is important for you, as well as for us, to try to obtain complimentary room and board, it is most important that every practical effort be made to secure the same.

We flew with Gar Wood, Sunday, to his island but were unable to get a contribution at that time, although I think we may secure a substantial one at some time in the future.

I have been unable to see Mr. Mahoney in his office although I saw him twice on Friday at the races and [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] a cocktail party. In meantime, I am writing follow-up appeal letters to some pretty good prospects.

Enclosed are the lists of "thank you" letters that we have sent and which have consumed much too much time.

The weather here has been improved a great deal, but we haven't had much time to really enjoy it.

I'll wire you as soon as we are able to start.

Affectionately,
Ruth
