OFFICE MEMORANDUM-UNITED CHINA RELIEF
1942 CAMPAIGN

YOu are scheduled to speak briefly at an Allied War RElief Variety Show on Saturday night, December 5th.  The show is set to begin at 8:00 p.m., and they asked that you get there at 8:30.  The show is sponsored by the Victory COuncil of Williamsburg and is to be held at the Y.M.C.A. at Bedford Avenue and Monroe Street, Brooklyn, New York.  They expect an attendance of over 1,000.  There will be entertainment representing the various Allied Nationas.  They would like you to speak for about 5 minutes, telling about the needs of China, and possibly putting in a plug for the other Allies, and making a strong appeal for funds.  A collection will be taken, to be divided among China, Britain, and Russia.  The man with whom we have had contact is Mr. Wilbur Levinson, 544 Marcy Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.

On Monday, December 7th, you are to speak for the monthly meeting of the Randlph-Macon College Alumnae.  This will be held at 8:00 p.m. at the Barclay Hotel, 111 East 48th Street.  They have not limited you as to the length of your talk so this is up to you.  They would like you to talk on China's role in the war, describe some of the needs, and make an appeal.  They expect a good sized crowd.  The contact is Miss Frances Butterfield,  422 East 50th Street, New York City.
