UNITED CHINA RELIEF - OFFICE MEMORANDUM

To Lee Ya-ching
From Elizabeth Jorzick
Subject: Coatesville, Pa. October 29 - 6:30pm dinner
Date October 27, 1943

You will take the Penn RR leaving Penn Station at 2:50 for Paoli. You will be met on arrival in the Paoli station at 4:48 pm. Paoli is just beyond Philadelphia.

Your chair car reservation and one way ticket are enclosed.

The dinner is sponsored by the Coatesville District War Fund and United Charities Campaign, and is the opening meeting. You will be the main speaker and are asked to give the same speech you gave in Harrisburg on October 2 -- about 20-30 minutes. Regarding your talk, they have asked you "to cover China and the general situation as far as possible to make our workers realize there is a war and that money must be raised."

About 200 campaign workers will attend the dinner which will be given in the Masonic Temple.

The name of the contact is Mr. F. H. Gordon, Chairman of the Dinner Committee, whose address is the Lukens Steel Company (telephone - 2000), or his home, 558 East Lincoln Highway (telephone 0669).

All expenses and an honorarium of fifty dollars will be paid.

About coming back--they will put you on the train in Paoli in time for you to change at the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia to the 10:35 train arriving in New York City at 12:15 midnight. They will get a seat for you on the train.

Best of luck to you.
