Dear Miss Lee,

The garden party at Westport, Connecticut tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon will be from three to six o'clock at "Tralee" on Sylvan Road, north of Boston Post road. The chairman in charge is Mrs. John Allen Dougherty, whose address is "Little Cedars" Mail Route 25, Westport, Connecticut - telephone: Norwalk 4778.

Mrs. Dougherty said that if you go by train to take a taxi from the station. As the taxi driver turns into Sylvan Road, he will be able to find the party because of markings.

The train you should go on leaves Grand Central Station at 1:40 New York time, arriving in Westport at 2:47 New York time.

Please be prepared to make a short talk on China. The Ambassador will be the guest of honor, and will speak. Mr. Liu Liang-Mo will have a few words to say and will sing some of the national songs.

I think we had a very constructive conference together yesterday, and we are working as rapidly as possible on all plans.

Most sincerely,
