5. Civic Receptions to be given to Miss Lee in Hamilton and Toronto by the Mayors of the cities.

The estimated cost of our campaign including cost of the plane, insurance, etc., plus salary for eight weeks publicity man will be approximately $5,000.

Conclusion

This, in very brienf form, are our proposals. Many important details have already been arranged for, and the few remaining ones will be disposed of in a few days. This Campaing is a result of our Rice Bowl Festival, we were able to send $2,800 through the Canadian Red Cross direct to the Chinese Government. We are in hopes of raising $100,000 in the next three months through this Campaign. Your generous cooperation will be most gratefully received.

Finally

Would you be good enough to let me know what fee Miss Lee Ya-ching would be agreeable for her services at this occasion? We will arrange for a broadcast in a National hook-up for her. Recently, we heard her speak over N.B.C. Would it be possible for you to let me have a copy of this talk which she gave?

Dr. Gordon Agnew will be in New York and Dr. H. A. Brace will also be down in the very near future. I am sure we will be only too happy to cooperate with you. It seems to me that we are both trying to accomplish the same thing.

Sincerely yours,
