CIRCLE 5-4100 CABLE UNICHINAID August 5th, 1943 Miss Lee Ya-ching 25 East 83rd Street New York, New York Dear Miss Lee: Thank You for calling me back this morning about definite honorarium arrangements for the fall. It is understanding that we are to ask fifty dollars as an honorarium for large meetings, with a minimum of thirty-five dollars for smaller groups. In addition to the honorarium, travel expenses for points beyond the metropolitan area (the five boroughs) will be paid. When an honorarium is paid to you for a meeting within the metropolitan area (the five boroughs), United China Relief will not be responsible for any expenses. If we have an answer from the United Community and War Chest of Taunton before you leave tomorrow, we shall call you so that you can put it down in your book. I hope you have a thoroughly pleasant and restful month up in Maine. I shall probably be calling you after you return in September in the hope that we can lunch together. With all good wishes, Very sincerely, Elizabeth Jorzick Elizabeth Jorzick Director, Speakers Bureau P.S. The call has just come through from Taunton and they are delighted that you will be able to go there on September 14th. Therefore, please put that on your book as a definite engagement, and we shall send you the details when you return to New York.
