(SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR YOUR WORK)

1- It would always help a lot to make contact with the large daily papers as soon after arriving in the city as possible. Given them the story of your work and the back-ground of your life; also try to have your picture to appear in the paper, this gives publicity and paves the way for a good reception with other groups.

2- It would also aid you a great deal by making a friendly contact with the Chamber of Commerce in each city; they nearly always have a list of the different societies, clubs, organiaations, churches, and any other group that would be interested in helping a great cause such as you represent.
NOTE
In order to do either of the above mentioned in the best way, it would save you from any apparent personal interest if you could have a safe representative to do this for you.

3- My own personal feeling is, that if you could plan to remain at least two weeks in each large city, it would give you sufficient time to lay the foundation for your work the first week, then the second week could be given to "follow up" through personal solicitation, or to organize some safe club to carry on after you are gone.
NOTE
Item (Three) calls for some sort of pledge cards to be left with club representing your work; also some literature giving actual facts and conditions of the situation in China.

NOTE-
Your appearance and speaking before different groups and clubs the first week would also prepare an atmosphere and sentiment largely in favor of your work, and if the papers would give some publicity to your speaking engagements, as well as the club or group sponsoring the solicitation, this would all go together in getting a generous response to the needs of your people in China.

4- You should plan (if allowed) to pass out some simple tracts at your speaking engagements, setting fourth the facts and dire needs of the people in China, and, if these tracts, or slips are given out, something like the following would get results.
