Dear Rod:

I just received a letter from a friend of mine in Europe offering me a picture that may be of considerable interest to you.

It is one of the most charming large conversation pictures that I have ever seen. It is 6'4-1/2" wide by 5'7" high and was painted in 1697 by Baltazar Vandenbosch and represents the entire family Wanamaker in a park. The picture is very finely painted and the composition is charming.

No doubt a member of the Wanamaker family or one of their in-laws would be interested in such a delightful ancestral picture. The price asked is quite reasonable.

I have only one photograph on hand at the moment which I do not want to part with, but should you come to New York I would be very glad to show it to you so that you will have a better idea of it.

Let me know what you think "en principe". In the meanwhile, kindest personal regards.

Always sincerely,

(R. H. Waegen)
