Paris, February 9th,1934.

Dear Mr.Phillips,

I acknowledge receipt of your letter of February 7th regarding the possibility of our holding a show of water-colours and drawings by XIXth century artists during the month of June in your galleries, in London.

The exhibition which we plan to have will comprise the works of most of the great XIXth century Masters represented by water-colours and drawings of the finest quality.

If you agree on the terms of the exhibition, we will shortly send you a tentative list of the works ✔︎ we will exhibit.

We are in perfect agreement with you regarding your devoting two rooms to the show, free of all charges. It is understood that you will advertise the show extensively and take care of mailing invitations and printing catalogues. We agree to send you the pictures free of charge both ways. We will also pay the duty on frames.

We understand very well that you will have some expenses in connection with this exhibition, but on the other hand, we feel that the importance and quality of the works we will send you will make a show that should attract a great many people to your galleries.

Your paragraph regarding the selling prices of our works is very true and you need to have no fear about our asking prices. We shall make it a point to ask the lowest possible prices, although certain figures will be quite justified considering the rarity and quality of the works.

On the other hadn, we would like you to understand that if we make a great effort to keep our prices down and in many cases take no profit whatsoever on our cost price and sometimes even take losses, we are justified to ask you to keep.......
