June 20, 1972

Dear Mr. Seligman,

In trying to gather the journals to be sent to the binder, I am encountering a few problems. First of all, judging from the past correspondence, The Cleveland Museum Eulletin is usually tardy in publication of its index. In response to a letter I wrote to them, the museum said that the index for 1970 and 1971 would not be ready until the late Fall of 1972. Secondly, the index for the Metropolitan Museum Bulletin will not be ready for at least three more weeks, and the museum indicated it might be even longer.

The alternatives with respect to the binding seem to be:
1. Wait until the Fall to send everything at once
2. Wait for three weeks to see whether the Metropolitan Museum Bulletin can be included.
3. Send to Mr. Grossman right now:
   The Art Bulletin 1971
   The Art Quarterly 1971
   Gazette des Beau-arts 1971
   Burlington Magazine 1971
Bulletin de la sociétê de l'histoire de l'art francais 1968, 1969

Then in the fall send:
     The Cleveland Museum Bulletin 1970,1971
     The Metropolitan Museum Bulletin 1971

I think that sending most of the books now and the Metropolitan and Cleveland Bulletins in the Fall would be best. The books to be sent in the Fall will probably weigh almost the 50 lb minimum the firm would be charged for sending them REA I also imagine the Fall will be very busy and it might be better to have this project well started.

I am very sorry to bother you with these difficulties, especially since you have many other decisions to make right now.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Cooney
