EUROPE LOG, SPRING 1973

page thirteen

Dear Germain
(Professor)
AARON SHEON
Henry Clay Frick Fine Arts Building
Schenley Plaza
University of Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15213

We are enclosing a Xerox copy of his letter regarding the MONTICELLI, and Julia is acknowledging its arrival as per enclosed copy. However we are holding here photocopies which he attached, from A. Alauzun, [[Underlined]] MONTICELLI [[/Underlined]], pages 417, 418, 419, 420, as I assume you could find a copy over there.

GETTY I suppose you will already have heard of the death of his eldest son. According to the radio report the victim has been stabbed at a barbecue.

FIRE SAFETY PLAN Each floor in the building is being required to have a Fire Warden, Deputy Fire Warden and "Searchers", and to fill out forms giving those names. So we have elected Julia Halpern as Fire Warden, Carol Cooney as Deputy Fire Warden, and I guess the rest of us will have to be whatever "Searchers" implies. They also have posted on the wall near the elevators a plan of the lay-out of this floor, with fire exited marked.

EXHIBITION On June 18th we are opening a show called "One by Each", which will include newcomers as well as the artists we already represent. According to the discussion we had before you left, the idea is that these should remain up over the summer and into the early Fall.

MR RONALD FREYBERGER dropped in yesterday, and stayed quite a while, telling of all the nice things that have happened for him, especially the Kress Foundation grant, which he says is the largest they have ever given.

LOG This is the last letter we will mail to Paris.

FLOOD Yesterday we had a small flood from one of the rest rooms. That was the big excitement of the day. The night-man responded pretty well and quickly.

YOUR LETTER We have just received the large envelope with the photographs, and I have turned over the letter referring to them to Carol.

NORTON SIMON, MONTICELLI As regards the MONTICELLI, I really believe it would be better for you to take this up when you come, so we'll do nothing meanwhile. Perhaps they are even re-considering...! ok? T-
