LOGS Yesterday we received Logs of May 15th and 16th. Meanwhile I think you have all the information not covered then.

NORTON SIMON This morning the following letter came from Mr Isley, which Julia is acknowledging. We also have sent a "straight" cable to you. Do you thing that we should send a loaf of bread to Mr. Simon, who seems to have been so badly pauperized by the stock market?

We have returned to you today in care of Cirker's-Hayes the Moreau PIETA. In view of the declining stock market, we have decided not to purchase this picture. Mr Simon wanted me to let you know, however, how pleased he is to have been given the opportunity to study the picture. We will advise you shortly on the Huet drawing which is still under consideration. Kindest regards, DARRYL E ISLEY

DAVID DATTELBAUM phoned yesterday, hoping to find you here. I told him that you had booked a plane back on July 7th, but should you change your plans he would like you to know that he will be in New York from June 29th to July 2nd, As you yoummay wish to write to him, his address is:
Mr. David N. Dattelbaum
248 Southland Road
Palm Beach, Florida 33480 (on travelling cards)

MRS MOULTON brought in the second-hand copy of "Merchants of Art" which she purchased at some benefit. Whoever may have been owner evidently was interested in establishing the genealogy of the Seligman family, as I found the attached note therein, and noticed that on one page Rene Seligmann's name is underlined.

MR ROBBINS called up this morning inquiring whether we knew anything about a Baron Albert de Rothschild. We cannot find anything relating to this gentleman. Mr. Robbins says the Baron claims he had very little money, but is thinking of leaving his collection to Mount Sinai Hospital.
