#194,

Mr. Arthur Seligman,

has done in the way of endeavoring to recover then, but I do know that up to within a week or so ago, he had not received then. I am not enough in touch with the situation to give you any details but do hope that you can say a word to this gentleman which will cause him to realize the importance of placing there manuscripts in Prof. Bandelier's hands. It is in the interest of science that this should be done, and I know that your great interest in the subject, and in the furtherance of any publication work that will bring the records of our great Southwest before the reading public, will prompt you to do what little you can in bringing about the desired one.

I do not know Mr. Kaune but I do know that your influence in Santea Fé is great enough to cause your word to bear considerable weight even upon a subject not connected with business.

Hoping that you can do something in this matter, and that I may have the pleasure of hearing from you in the near future, I beg to remain,

Very sincerely yours,

(G.H.P.)
