Dr. Franz Boas,
Curator of Anthropology,
Amer. Museum of Nat. History.

My dear Dr. Boas:-
I take pleasure in sending you herewith a report for the first quarter. This report covers the work done by the Department of the Southwest.

During this quarter there has been no occasion for cataloging specimens as practically all of the material on hand has been recorded.
There have been no acquisitions but arrangements have been made for the exchange of certain material which will help us to fill in certain gaps in our collections of pottery.
The undersigned has devoted considerable time to the re-arrangement of the laboratory and the preparation of the material from Pueblo Bonito for study in connection with publication work.
The collection of modern Pueblo pottery which was prepared for the University of California has been packed and shipped.
An preliminary report on the contents of a deposit found in one of the ceremonial rooms in Pueblo Bonito has been prepared; this article will appear in the Americin Anthropologist.
Mr. Lentz has been engaged in preparing material for exhibition
