Brittin-2.
I phoned you and called to see in order that I might explain, but you were out on both occasions. I then phoned that I would stop and see you about the matter but certain publication work made this impossible.
But what is the use of wirds! Bandelier likes you and merely wanted the satisfaction of having you present the book so go ahead as though nothing had happened. As for future communications to either Bandelier or me, I know that you will look upon this rather unfortunate misunderstanding as a closed book, never again to be opened. I know, as perhaps no one else knows, how much of a load you are carrying and how hard it is to "go it alone". If I can help you in any way, you know that you have only to command me.
If you wish to please all parties concerned you will come to the Museum some day for a few minutes and then go out to lunch with me to our new lunch room in the Colonial Bank Building where on the 12h. floor, we can have a quiet little chat.
As ever, Cordially yours,
Pep
