Mr. James M. Goulding,
Grandview,
Arizona.

Dear Sir:-

I have just received a letter from Doctor Prudden in which he states that you will sell your Cliff Dweller perforated jar for ten dollars. I have not been able to see my way clear to purchase this specimen for the Museum but have persuaded a friend to buy it for his collection. In this way we have the specimen in the city and, therefore, have it available for any scientific use.

Kindly send the jar to me, care of the American Museum and I will send you the money for same as soon as it arrives.

Sincerely yours,
Geo. H. Pepper.
