Mr. Francis E. Vaughan,
West Haven,
Connecticut.

Dear Sir:-

I want to thank you for sending the archaeological specimens to the Museum for the inspection of a friend. I was rather disappointed when he said that he could not use them but his collection is so large that it was not surprising to find that he had all of the forms represented.

I have not had time to look into the matter of the " Shell arrows" but the whole collection has been examined by the Museum people and they have decided that they cannot use any of them at the present time.

In returning your specimens it is with the feeling of regret that someone could not use them, but I hope that you will meet with [[?]] some other quarter.

Respectfully yours,
Geo. H. Pepper.
