My Dear Prof. Pepper-

You have been proposed for membership in the Southwest Society, and approved by the Executive Committee. It is the sense of this committee that you are one of those who should be urged to accept this election.

More than 330 of the most prominent persons in California are already members, besides such Fasterners as President Roosevelt, Hon. Paul Morton, Prest.Ripley of the Santa Fe RR., Prest. McCall of the New York Life Insurance Co., Henry E.Huntington, and so on. These names become part of the archives of every important museum and library in the world. Life members are of perpetual record; their names being carried always on the printed rolls, even after death.
