Miss Anita M. Earl,
118 West 130th. Street,
New York City, N.Y.

My dear Miss Earl,

I was indeed sorry to find that two of your slides had been broken in transit from the office of Mr. Van Altena to the Museum. There were a series of complications that arose but, as I had promised to have the slides in your hands not later than Thursday afternoon I had to avail myself of any help that could be obtained. After wiring Mr. Van Allena I received a phone from him stating that he could not come for the negatives and suggesting that I send same [[some]] by one of the Museum men. I found a man who lives in Brooklyn and arranged with him to take the material on his way hoe Saturday evening. He also brought hi back and, owing to insecure packing, the two were broken. It was a great relief, however, when they arrived even in that shape.

There is no statement to be made concerning the sashes, etc. as that was settled long ago.
