[[strikethrough]] Mon Tues [[/strikethrough]] Sun. 1932 Mr. Clopton said about my essay on "Let them Laugh" - it's an [[underline]] excellent [[/underline]] piece of work. I'm proud of you for this piece of writing" Oh boy - did I feel good - and I know he really meant what he said. He liked my "Under the Bridge" essay also - and helped me pick out my best poems. I was surprised when he classed "Crusaders" and "Enlightenment" good, while he didn't choose "In a Distant Autumn."

19 It rained so much yesterday that we didn't have school on account of the roads. I went to the gym instead with the boys.

[[strikethrough]] Tues. Wed. [[/strikethrough]] Mon. 1932. I spent so much time on my essays, short story, & poems that I didn't know my French lesson, and got an F. Flat F. Was I angry! Well, life is like that you can't get all you want at the same time. I got praises for my literary work, but not French.
