She was the cause of my writing the poem "Comparison" today in 5th period. She certainly is an inspiration - and she's giving me the chance to win the Pearl - big hearted, all right. APRIL 14 Thurs 1932- H. has set me all a-flutter again! and when I was talking intimately today to her, how L. stared at me with slanting eyes! I wonder why! H. called me Peirrot today and I sort of resented it for I think that Peirrot is supposed to be a sucker in plays. I guess H. doesn't know that-she thinks P. is the hero of Columbine, the name I call her by. 19 and the arrival of my SR 250 slides [[end page]] [[start page]] to Europe! but in filling out an information slip today - I put no after "will you accept trip to Europe if winner?" there goes me chance! But I only want to go to town! Any way - I'd die feeding sharks if I should go to Europe with all the haoles! APRIL 15 Fri. 1932- The Misk debators - Clarence chang- tall-lanky-Virginia Onannoto - goofy & country looking, Christiana Lam - chinafied - and another boy came over & swamped the KHS debate team - Elsie,H, & Hachiro 4 to 1! Waimea Jr. High Kids came over too-& among [[strikethrough]] my [[/strikethrough]] them my ideal boy friend - Clarence Tani - too bad he's only a Freshie now.. If I win the national Paris Post contest, I'll have a free trip 19 and the un-arrival of April St. Nick & word of the CS a contest
Transcription Notes:
Pierrot is a stock character of pantomime, known to pine after Columbine. I think this makes more sense than the original translated "Parrot".
