She was the cause of my writing the poem "Comparison" today in 5th period. She certainly is an inspiration - and she's giving me the chance to win the Pearl - big hearted, all right.

Thurs 1932- H. has set me all a-flutter again! and when I was talking intimately today to her, how L. stared at me with slanting eyes! I wonder why! H. called me Peirrot today and I sort of resented it for I think that Peirrot is supposed to be a sucker in plays. I guess H. doesn't know that-she thinks P. is the hero of Columbine, the name I call her by.

Transcription Notes:
Pierrot is a stock character of pantomime, known to pine after Columbine. I think this makes more sense than the original translated "Parrot".
