Sir.
I have the honor to report that the two sons of Virginia Cain (Allen & Joe) are now in the possession of their mother and have been for some time past. (say about the middle of May last)
If they were not in her possession I cannot see that I as Probate Judge could issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus. under your application, 1st because Probate Judges has no jurisdiction to grant such writs. 2nd because if they had jurisdiction, that jurisdiction extends only to the county where they are Judges (these minors are now in Laurence County)
