I have the honor to submit the following report of affairs relating to Freedmens Bureau for this Dist. for the month of May 1866.

There has been very little transpiring this month other than the regular routine of Official duty. There has been quite a number of citizens from different parts of the District for information on various matters relating to the management of Freedmen. I have embraced the opportunity to talk freely with these people about their management of freedmen The prospect of the coming crop. I find that when people have conformed to the new state of things with an idea of making the best at recognizing that the negro is free & respecting
