What has become of The Freedmans copies. of contracts. which were placed on file. in the office of Lt. L. P. Woodworth who was acting as Sub-Commissioner at this place last winter. I have been informed that they were placed in the office at Vicksburg, when he left here- The 'Freedman' commenced calling on me to represent them. and by some means or other have got. to believe. that I am. the only Magistrate, in the County, that will give them their rights. according to law. and in consequence. they nearly all come to me with their complaints and I find it difficult.
