Dear Sir:
In sending you my last communication in reference to the killing of two negroes south of here a few miles, I was led into an error as to the facts in the case by statements made by friends of Barker, the man that killed the negros. He did not go to Jacinto and surrender himself as represented. But left the vicinity for a short time, but has since returned. As soon as I learned the real state of the facts, I ordered the Deputy Sheriff to summon a posse, and immediately proceed to arrest him and bring him here for trial. He has already made two unsuccessful attempts to arrest him, and will continue his efforts. He evidently fears an arrest but he will certainly be arrested if he remains in the county. The evidence before the Coroners inquest is the same as I stated in my last. I have the statement of the County Coroner to that effect
