The only conclusion that can be arrived at is that a few irresponsible men, have under the cover of the night taken advantage of our city authority to commit an outrage, [[strike through]] for [[/strike through]] of which they neither dare speak or boast and outside of the immediate offenders, not a man in Corinth knows who they are. For further particulars, I will refer you to the statement and affidavits of the Trustees of the school and of the Negroes. The trustees are colored men and appointed to that position by our mayor some time since.
