and sent out. They will show that I seek to make my office an agency for procuring and employment of teachers. A copy of each letter is appended to this Report - the first intended to be sent to teachers and societies, and the second, to those who may wish teachers.

I have heard as usual, of schools from which I have not been able to get reports. I add the usual estimate, to my statistical table, of the numbers taught in unreported schools. There is no doubt it is within proper bounds.

Looking at the progress that pupils have made, we find the results highly gratifying. There are many of them sufficiently instructed to teach for many schools. I have full expectation that forty village and plantation schools may next year be supplied with teachers from among our pupils.

I will here introduce the usual Statistical Table of Schools and follow it with a few notes.
