Start out 7:30am. Going over in general direction of San Miguel River. Clear and sunny.

8:10am Region of moderately tall, well drained, forest. See single Squirrel, Sciurus. Bright red tail. Also some bright red on top Possibly dark below. 30-35 ft up. Definitely alone. Feeding on nuts. Silent except for sounds of feeding.

9:10am. Region of very mixed forest with lots of tangles. Well drained. Looks rather like Caqueta [[Caquetá]]. Come across group of 5 Tamarins. Ranging 10-50 ft up both in tangles and large trees. 3 adults and 2 young according to guide. Very shy (now that sun is out). Discover us immediately. Vocalize a lot. Stay 50-100 yds away (very difficult to see. But do not move away until we actually approach)

Vocalizations include a lot of Sharp Notes. Some Loud Sharp Notes, many Medium Sharp Notes (MSN's). Uttered single and in [[?]], Some series quite irregular. Also lots of short W's (not at all plaintive). W's and Sharp
