We wait around in the moloch area for a long time. Without seeing or hearing a thing. Then find 5 animals (2 adjacent families?) In tangles 20-40 ft up. Definitely moloch. White forehead bar. Very red underneath. Some red on crown. One ind. sees us. Runs off with Squ's and/or short Wstl's. This provokes long series of rather soft "Chuk" Notes by all other inds. All run off. Into crowns tall tress 40-60 ft up.
This are is on slope alone most poorly drained low-place. Very mixed forest. Lot of vines. Sort of "messy" look.
1:00pm. Some distance further on. Come across group of tamarins. Approx. 7 inds. Including at least 2 young. In thick low trees edge marsh. This vegetation is as thick as some inhabited by moloch, but it does not have lianes. Tamarins usual drill brown form. Notice that one ind. (at least) has brown very finely brindled with black Animals see us immediately. Vocalize without moving away far. Lots of LSN's. Some W's. LSN's sometimes [[?]] into Trll. But this is less distinctive than corresponding pattern of Puiche'. Not quite so rapid. One ind. utters peculiar Trll - "eeyoo" [[symbol to describe the sound]]
Combination Tall-W?
2:10 pm Much further on. Region of nature well drained forest on slope. See Pygny squirrel. Dull brown. Apparently same species as at Rumiyaco Feeding on trunk large tree, 40-45 ft up. Apparently willing bark. There are no Cebuella holes in this tree.
