EXPLANATION: This island must tend to be poorly drained at all times. It is very low and flat indeed. But we are told that the amount of water around today is very unusual. Yesterday all the streams and "canales" were almost completely dry So we will try again tomorrow. (Several other of the local inhabitants have confirmed that there are all black tamarins in the neighborhood. And most of them suggest that these animals are most common - altho always actually rare -  in the part of the island which we were not able to reach today - an area which is probably equally low lying and poorly drained but covered by some higher forest. This island is in the Rio Guineo.

Going to try same place again this morning. Weather clear. Water level down a little. Arrive island 7:10 am
7:55 am Region of very mixed vegetation, with lots of tangles, where floor of forest is still flooded. Get very brief and bad glimpse of group of friscicollis. 20-50 ft up in tall trees and tangles. Quiet. Apparently alone. 
8:20 am. Region of very mixed vegetation. Lots of young second growth. Also exotic [[branches?]]. Near several series of 4-5 urgent high pitches Whistles. Guide says that these are by [[underline]] Cebuella [[/underline]]. As far as I can tell, could be birds.
