Wed 16th Poured cement in footings for deer fence. After supper Eddie & Lisa & June Samson came over for anagrams and guitar. I baked a coffee cake with sunflower seeds.

Thurs. Palmers came over to see my work. Then Helen Corbett & friend came at 5 for a drink.

Fri 18 - returned Sears sweater. Much too large. Wrote Herma & Harry. A very warm, sticky day. [[strikethrough]] am [[strikethrough]] Doris Wyner & son Isaiah joined us on porch after lunch for ginger ale, crackers & cheese. Poured more cement today - & got the footings all done. Rather enjoyed the work. Eddie Samson helped. After supper, to Lobster Cove- (Mike joined us)- a new moon over the sea reflected itself in a low tide pool. A tanker floated past, crossing the moon path on the water. Dropped in on Murray & Jo.

An Angel Face floribunda opened today with the most beautiful colors of lavender & ruby-red. And also a beautiful Valencia, & a Woburn Abbey, & a Lady Elgin. The garden was ablaze with flowers, all sections so full of color & brilliance I had to photograph it.

Sat 19th A very warm day. Werbes returned 2 bottles of liquor. Worked on a w.c. ptg & on deer fence. Vernon & Peter came to check on plumbing leaks as there is a critical water shortage on island. Practiced on recorder after supper.

Sun 20 The big day - man lands on moon.
Had a bad cold, but worked on fence. Picked a salad & some flowers for Jo - supper there with Loews & Tony & Jo Pierce. Then Karen Wincapaw came to invite us watch TV. Saw the first steps taken on moon! The first footprints, the "landscape with figures". A light drizzle tonight.
