Mon Aug 11 '69 0 A whole string of good visitors to studio today. The Irwins bought a drawing, at the same time Anne White, with Helen Corbett & Nina (Andrea Sender) was choosing one for herself, while Carl Hiller, with Lawrence Goldsmith was deciding on one for himself. Also [[strikethrough]] in mail [[/strikethrough]] (at noon) on phone, Millie Cummings told me Eliot Elisophon [[Elisofon]] had bot a drawing in Rockport. And just the other day I thot my drawings were not being appreciated. In eve - supper at Mel & Anne Gussow's. Pam brot me some lettuce seeds from Italy. 

Tues- worked all day & night on new w.c. The weather was good. Beans & peas & beets all ready. Planted Italian lettuce seeds.

Wed 13th Aug. Spent all day finishing acrylic w.c. "The White Horizon." Then photo'd it with "Dark Headland" (acryl.) & 2 drngs: Strata & Spruce, and Cliffside, then spent all aft. wrapping all 4 for mailing tomorrow to Rockport. Really confined to studio for 3 days. Took walk to rocks below Jan's at 5 to loosen up - saw lg. mussels in ravine pool. Will get them some day. After supper, took drng to Irwins - stayed there, played 1st game of "go." Nice kids: Virginia, Victoria & Max.

Thurs. Aug 14. To PO at 11 to mail 4 pictures to Rockport. Bot an ink bottle at Betty's In aft. lots of people in studio - 2 new sales - Carl Hiller & Ann White came to get their drawings. Tamara bot a drng, as did a Miss Butler (a small w.c) (lunch on rocks below Jan's - dug out some tiny flowering plants for iron pot planting) In eve, on 1/2 hr notice, prepared dinner for Mel Gussons - delicious clam sauce pesto style - (Ethan too). Played anagrams after supper. A very hot airless night.

Friday 15th What disagreeable weather: windless, humid, hot. Tamara came at 11 to pick up the drawing (& bought another) and a dozen lilac suckers for her "yard". Had our first cucumber for lunch. Werbes brought a date nut loaf from Vermont. Made spaghetti meatballs with fresh herbs - for Irwins - good supper good time, good games. Nice family.

Sat 16th Obermans arrived. Gussows left. A busy fragmented day. Irwins left on late boat. A hot [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] day but not so bad as yesterday. To Twinings at 5 for drinks. Werbes, Myles, Mollers, Lida U., Boehrmers, & Marian Thieu & kids. Exhausted after supper here. Stretchers arrived.
