CURATOR OF ETHNOLOGY

NEW YORK January 2, 1919.

Dear Mr. Pepper,

Upon my return to New York I find your letter of December 22nd consenting to the proposal I made for the publication of the Bonito paper. I see I did not make myself clear as to the authorship. In fact, I took for granted that you understood that matter. My idea was for your part of the publication to appear over your name and that this should be the major portion of the work. As soon as I have time to go over your paper carefully I will lay before you a plan of procedure according to which I think it can best be brought out. I am asking Mr. Hyde to arrange with you for bringing down the negatives and other material.

With best wishes, I am

Very truly yours,
Clark Wissler
