Dear Mr. Pepper:
I am ashamed to have to admit that your letter of January 6th has remained unanswered on my desk. My only possible excuse is that all of us have for several months been desperately busy endeavoring to get a new exhibition open. I have taken the matter up with Dr. Farabee, Curator of the American Section and I will report to you the result of our conversation.
You are so much better acquainted with the Navajo blanket and its varieties than any one else that Dr. Farabee thinks that it would be more helpful to you if you have access to the blankets in the Museum rather than that we should try to give you the information you need.
If you will let me know therefore whether you would like to come over to look at our ponchos or whether you would rather have us send you such answers as we can to the five questions which you ask in your letter, I will be guided accordingly.
Very sincerely yours,
GB Gordon
