Mr. George H. Pepper, Director
Museum of the American Indian,
Heye Foundation,
New York - N. Y.

My dear Mr. Pepper:-
Your very kind note of March 6th contains the exact information which I desired and which will be of interest to several of my friends who have discussed this question of relative number of Indians now, and at the time of the conquest - not without heat at times.
It is apparent from your statement that there is no "rising tide of (this) color". Apart from my gratitude for the information given, I wish to express the hope that I may some day meet you to discuss in person some of our mutual friends and some of the places in New Mexico familiar to both of us.
Gratefully and sincerely yours,
Burton Thompson
