Dear Doris,
I have just got my work finished, for the morning, Pa's socks mended, ready for him to put on, after he finishes his cleaning up. I put out my clothes on the line last night about dark and expected they would dry through the night but this morning, woke to find it was a fine storm. But the sun has just broken through the clouds, and it may be pleasant again. The milk boy has just been, and told about another raid the officers had made this morning. Tuesday they made the first one, before seven oclock, but Pa will tell about it in his letter, Friday Mary Jim called on me, she is all stirred up about the way Becca Standish used her, at the time Ethel was brought home with a broken leg from school. She is good enough to do their drudgery for them but no thanks does she get
