Dear Doris -

  Well this is a pleasant day & I have been very busy so far, getting dinner, washing and cooking.  I am raising bread, and I made a berry pie for dinner.
  
  We opened up a jar of our deletious grape juice.  Pa has tried an experiment on it this year and it seems that to half a jar of grapes, and to fill the jar with hot water, and with the same of sugar, it gives the like result.  I dont think that he put in quite as much sugar come to think of it.  Pa has just started up to the cemetry with Drake.

  Well I went to Mrs Curtises funeral Wednesday the house was crowded and banked
