after dinner -

I have just finished dinner and we have got the dishes out of the way. Pa is snoozing in the old chair and Lena is reading in the little rocker. I was just saying that I suppose you to were on a hike this pleasant day.
Lena had a letter from Miss Hodges the woman she lived with in Maynard, and she wrote that she had a little Girl baby it was a surprise to Lean, she had just sent up to Myrtle, the older child, a handsome pink organdy dress she had made for her it was a beauty and she put in lots of work into it too. Now she is thinking what to make the other one, and then there is Burneces coming this winter sometime in March. I made some jelly out of those grapes we got after cooking it all the forenoon it didnt gell and the flavor was spoilt. Amos brought me up some crab apples but I hope Ill have better luck with them, sometimes things dont work well. I dont know why. I think that if they had been made right up perhaps they would been all right.
