Dear Doris,
We are having nice weather just now since Friday nights showers that went both sides of us everything is fresh looking on account of so many showers. The Blakes seem to be enjoying this trip west - I got another card from them yesterday, saying they were going to start home tomorrow and get home by Saturday. We got a big box of blueberries from Lena yesterday they were 'dandies' and were just such ones that you sent home that summer you visited Frances Wadleigh they were so ripe that I have had to peel them up I began early this morning and it took me till dinner time twenty three qts and a pint I saved out some to cook, and gave the Rings a dish and the Griffins some, they both brought me some of theirs when they had some and Mrs G brought over, some apples for pies so we are friendly these days.
Wednesday I went to Brockton to get my glasses fixed while I was walking up Main St I thought of calling on the Burns family as I had located the house on the car up, and lo and behold I met she and aunt Bina on the street face to face, we were all greatly surprised and much pleased and the wanted to turn back, but I said as long as I had seen them for them to keep on their way and so do there trading I would be coming over again so they wanted to know about you. Business was good they were having a good class of mealers and were content but that Mr Burns was suffering with an uncomfortable rupture. Mrs Griffin wants me to go over with her to call on them some day which we may sometime later on.
