Dear Doris-
This is a pleasant sunny day so far, although the sky in the east was pretty pink, your right - winter wont rot in the sky this hitch. Last Sunday after noon I was promted to go and see Helen, I found her in a very peaceful state and thought that the end was not far off and so it seemed for in less than twenty four hours she passed quietly away, her near relitives were at the funeral, which was held in the church parlor the new minister delivered a fine sermon every one seemed content; there were a sufficient number of floral pieces, after I got home Alice Talbot called up and said that Mary had to go right back, on account of the severity of the weather. She also said that her money (Helens) held out and there was some left, which she would be pleased to know, as that worried her for fear that she would live too long and come to want. If she had live 'till the 28th of this month
